Introducing "Season off," an exhibitor at the March 2020 show

PLUG IN│Editorial Office
UPLOADED 25 FEBRUARY, 2020

An Apparel Brand Filled With the Craftsmanship of Kiryu, the Textile City — Season off

Gunma Prefecture's Kiryu City has long flourished as a textile town, known for the saying "there's nothing Kiryu can't make," and it still retains many of its weaving, dyeing, embroidery, and sewing techniques today. Nagamasa Co., Ltd., which plans and manufactures cut-and-sew products, draws on these techniques for its apparel brand "Season off," bringing the spice of local craftsmanship into basic, everyday items.

For Spring/Summer 2020, the brand proposes a signature soft, product-dyed French linen series, denim, and a series with embroidery on basic cotton broadcloth, along with a chic sukajan embroidered by a traditional craftsman. Stockists have included "The Editorial," a shop on the 3rd floor of Odakyu Department Store Shinjuku, since last July. As of last October the lineup included cardigans and cut-and-sew items. The company also runs its own café and lifestyle shop in Kiryu, "EACH OF LIFE."

At the previous PLUG IN, the brand connected with Matsukata Charcuterie and Magic Mayonnaise from the food and general-goods area, and business began after they started using Season off items for the food menu at its directly-run café. The general-goods lineup centers on Season off while also carrying a rich assortment of MADE IN KIRYU products.
