PLUG IN Business Salon Held — Loan and Subsidy Seminar Supports Exhibitors

On August 27, the Senken Shimbun PLUG IN office held the first "PLUG IN Business Salon," a business seminar aimed at confirmed exhibitors and prospective exhibitors ahead of the October show.

The theme was how to use loans, subsidies, and crowdfunding to support the founding and growth of fashion businesses. Speakers Tsutomu Takemasa (a small and medium enterprise management consultant with the Tokyo SME Diagnostician Association's Fashion Business Study Group) and Naoki Miyasaka (of Kiraboshi Bank's startup support group) introduced "initiatives that support startup companies" and "seven subsidy and grant programs well worth using," citing real examples.

On the topic of crowdfunding, Yuta Eshiro, co-founder of Relic Inc., described reward-based crowdfunding as "a new form of e-commerce," and introduced its uses beyond fundraising — as test marketing, sales-channel development, and a branding tool.

Through the Business Salon, PLUG IN continues working to share information and build networks that go beyond the trade show and business-meeting format.
